The Commercial Demolition Process
Depending on the size and scope of your demolition project, they can range from a few weeks to a few months or even longer. However, demolition projects can generally be broken down into five main steps.
01
Acquiring the Necessary Permits
Before the demolition process begins, you will need to acquire the necessary paperwork and permits. This step often includes an initial site inspection conducted by a commercial demolition company like JUNKCO+.
02
Clear Out the Space
If the space you will be demolishing is still full of furniture and other items, you may want to get additional use out of these items before they’re gone for good. Any unwanted items can likely be demolished along with the structure. The more items you’d like to remove, the longer this step will take so make sure to complete this step long ahead of your demolition date.
03
Initiate Proper Safety Precautions
The next, and perhaps most important, step in the process is a comprehensive site survey. This is when our team evaluates the composition of the structure, and looks for dangerous building materials (i.e., lead, asbestos, etc.) that may hinder the demolition process. From there, we will develop a plan tailored to your job site.
04
Begin Demolition!
Once the structure is cleared and the safety plan is in place, the demolition process can begin. The tools and methods used to complete the work will vary based on the size of your demolition project.
05
Debris Removal
Once the demolition is complete, we will start removing the debris. If the demolished structure was made of concrete or masonry, it can be broken down and reused.
